Atlantic Blue is an Evolution 33 built in 2006. The cab has a central helm with all the usual modern electronic aids to hand, gas hob and seating for 3 passengers. She has a large clear deck space and is powered by a 420hp Caterpillar 3126. There is a stern gate for divers and decking sharks. Coding is for up to 10 passengers to 60 miles offshore. She is primarily utilised for sharking and has a cruising speed of 15 knots.
Atlantic Blue is moored in Dale Bay during April to October before berthing in Milford Marina.
Atlantic Blue is generally skippered by Andy Truelove, a local boy born and bred in Marloes with early memories of boating and fishing around the Dale and Marloes peninsulas. Much of his working life has been in the field of gas turbine engineering, training and working at Rolls-Rolls Aerospace for 13 years before becoming a partner in an engineering company based in South Wales. In 2003 he returned to Dale full time, setting up Broadside Bed & Breakfast and Broadside Boat Charter. Although working away from home for 25 years, Andy remained within the local community, returning to the area at weekends and for holidays and always fishing with a boat moored in Dale.
Generally boats single handed but additional qualified crew are utilised when circumstances dictate, generally for passenger safety.
